Kristof Woutters is Head of Financial Engineering at Dexia Asset Management, based in Brussels, Belgium.
In this function, Kristof is responsible for product development as well as the development of advanced investment solutions taking into account specific client needs and respective regulatory frameworks; his primary focus being integrated LDI solutions for pension & insurance institutions.
Kristof has over 18 years of experience in the investment management industry.
Prior to joining Dexia Asset Management in 2000, he worked as Senior Consultant at Pragma Consulting, an independent institutional investment consulting company specialised primarily in giving advice to pension funds and financial institutions world-wide. For 5 years he worked on various projects around asset management for pension funds. Moreover, he contributed to the report ‘Rebuilding Pensions’, sponsored and published by the European Commission, containing a ‘Code for Best Practice for Occupational Retirement Institutions’. This report was later used as a major source of inspiration in order for the Commission to draft the IORP Directive.
Kristof earned a master’s degree in commercial engineering at the University of Leuven (KUL, Belgium) and an additional master’s degree in economics from the University of Groningen (RUG, the Netherlands).
Besides spending time with his family Kristof often goes sailing, regularly competing in national and international regattas.
